Micah 1:2-16 - Pay attention, the Lord is with us

Do we live our lives as if the Lord were present with us?  Micah proclaims The Lord's judgement on his people because they have forgotten that very thing and it changes everything.

Christmas brings a lot of different emotions to the surface, but the key emotion we should feel is joy. Christ has come to bless us in a way we never thought possible. God himself wants us and by sending Jesus allows us to know Him, this is joy to the world.

We long for lasting commitment in our relationships with one another and Christmas is about that very thing. It is about God’s total commitment to be with us, love us and care for us forever. What better gift do we need at Christmas than that?

Why is God worthy of all our lives? Why should we follow him? Why should we care what he wants? Paul tells us it’s because God is glorious and there is no-one else like him in the entire universe.

This Sunday as we take time to remember those who have served our country in numerous conflicts we know the peace they purchased is temporary.  However we also want to remember the One who sacrificed himself for peace between God and man that has already begun and will last into eternity.

Romans 16:1-23 - It‘s all about family

When we trust in Christ we are saved from our sins, but God doesn't leave us on our own. He saves us into his family where we can love and be loved, where we can serve and be served. This is how God's love spreads throughout the world, through family.

Paul has written so many things in this letter, he has addressed so many issues, but he reminds us we never go beyond the basics. Jesus Christ is our saviour, everything must come back to that.
